Installation

quikSlip is installed to your local computer then deployed to your production web server by FTP upload or FrontPage Import.  No installation executable is required on the server, simply FTP (XCOPY) the files to your site and access the quikSlip Default web page.  quikSlip employs the InstallShield Update Service to notify you of updates to the software by automatically performing background checks (on your local computer) during a preset check interval.  Click the Check for Updates link in the Program Files folder to manually check for updates at any other time.

If not running quikSlip from your local computer, deploy the following from the Deploy Files folder from the install location on your local system to your production server:

  1. All files in the /bin folder to your web sites root /bin folder (the "site" refers to the asp.net web site quikSlip will run within)

  2. Copy the NCSoftware folder and all sub-folders to the web root or any desired folder location in your ASP.NET web site

  3. Ensure MODIFY permissions for ASPNET user account (Windows 2000) and/or NETWORK SERVICE/IIS_WPG (Windows 2003) on the /quikSlip and /bin folders

  4. Ensure the /quikSlip/upload folder (only the upload folder) has WRITE permissions for IUSR_MachineName

  5. Add your Database Connection String to the web.config by following the instructions in the Serial Number / Database Config topic (this is NOT required if using quikSlip within your StoreFront 6's store site.  quikSlip will pickup the connectionstring of your StoreFront 6 store automatically)

  6. Follow directions in this topic to enter your serial number once a license has been purchased

  7. Follow the directions in this topic to learn how to customize reports with your company information, logo, colors, etc.

Evaluation Restrictions:  Until quikSlip is licensed from NC Software's Secure Online Store several buttons will be disabled such as Void, Save Changes, and Export CSV is limited to two orders exported for demo purposes.  Reports will have an "Evaluation" label superimposed on the reports.  There is no time limit for quikSlip's evaluation.
